Our origins

With its colourful retro style, Les Dauphins captures the “Joie de Vivre” of Paris in the Roaring 1920’s, a time when Paris was the festive capital of culture, and creativity was at its peak. Family winegrowers in the Dauphiné region joined forces together in the 1920’s and their wines quickly became very popular due to their fruit-forward palate-pleasing style.

Today, new generations of winegrowers in the southern Rhône Valley still work together to craft Les Dauphins with care, dedicacy for their terroirs and environment friendly practices.

FROM THE DAUPHINÉ VINEYARDS

To obtain Les Dauphins unique style, Thierry Walet and Camille Potaux, Les Dauphins winemakers, first select the plots among our vineyards, guide the vinification within our wineries before selecting, blending and ageing the best wines that will make Les Dauphins award-winning blends.

The name “Les Dauphins” pays tribute to the terroir from which it comes, the former Dauphiné province in southeastern France. Our vineyards border the French Alps to the East, the Rhône River to the West and Provence to the South: some of the best plots in Southern Rhône. The climate here is typically warm and sunny with little rainfall, and the soils range from stony clay-limestone to sandy soil.
